Received Sub-Committee visit
Mauritania tabled voluntary pledges and commitments in support for its candidacy for membership for the period 2010-2013 on 6 April 2010.
The majority of the document presents the accomplishments of Mauritania in the field of human rights. The number of pledges and future commitments is very small and only one of them is ‘specific, measurable and verifiable,’ namely a pledge to support OHCHR.
Other commitments made by Mauritania include: ‘strengthen international cooperation;’ and ‘anchor a culture of human rights.’
