Received Sub-Committee visit
Gabon tabled voluntary pledges and commitments in support for its candidacy for membership for the period 2013-2015, on 18 October 2012.
The majority of the document presents Gabon’s general legal and policy framework for the promotion and protection of human rights and expresses its broad commitment to universal norms. The number of actual pledges and concrete commitments for future action are very small – only 4. None of them are ‘specific, measurable and verifiable.’
